چکیده
Studies on the flexural behavior of post-tensioned beams subjected to strand damage and strengthened with near-surface mounted (NSM) technique using carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) are limited fail examine effect CFRP laminates strain strengthening efficiency systematically. Furthermore, a design approach for UPC structures in existing guidelines FRP techniques is lacking. Hence, NSM-CFRP after partial investigated this study. The testing program consists seven by three ratios (14.3% symmetrical damage, 14.3% asymmetric 28.6% damage). experimental results showed that use significantly increases capacity up 17.4 20.4%, corresponding ratio 14.3 28.6%, respectively, enhances stiffness, reduces 15.8 22.2%. However, stiffness during serviceability phases critical as increase. Additionally, semi-empirical equations were proposed predict actual unbonded strands whilst considering effects laminates. suggested provide accurate predictions little variance. Experimental Study and Modeling of Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened by Post-Tensioned External Reinforcing Bars
The utilization of unbounded external reinforcing bars is one of the strengthening methods used after loading stage and before failure. The method has been used in different forms to strengthen members of reinforced concrete structures. To investigate the effect of utilization of post-tensioned reinforcing bars in this method of strengthening, a number of reinforced concrete beams was tested. S...
متن کاملAnalysis of Concrete Bridge Girders Strengthened with Cfrp Laminates under Service and Extreme Loading Conditions
Externally bonded carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates are a feasible and economical alternative to traditional methods for strengthening and stiffening deficient reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete girders as shown in Fig. (1). Although extensive research has already been undertaken to investigate the behavior of CFRP strengthened bridge girders, the majority of work condu...
متن کاملThe Tension-Stiffening Contribution of NSM CFRP to the Behavior of Strengthened RC Beams
Tension stiffening is a characteristic behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams which is directly affected by the bond-slip property of steel bar and concrete interfaces. A beam strengthened with a near-surface mounted (NSM) technique would be even more affected by tension stiffening, as the NSM reinforcement also possess a bond-slip property. Yet assessing how much the tension stiffening of ...
متن کاملUltimate Unbonded Tendon Stress in CFRP Strengthened Post-Tensioned Indeterminate I-Beams Cast with HSCs
Based on the bending experiment for two-span continuous post-tension beams with unbounded tendons and externally applied CFRP sheets, the analysis of the stress increment of unbonded tendons is monitored in the loading process. Since self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a suitable innovation,, understanding the implementation of this type of concrete on the ultimate unbonded tendon stress is criti...
متن کاملUltimate Tendon Stress in CFRP Strengthened Unbounded HSC Post-Tensioned Continuous I-Beams
The use of unbounded tendons is common in prestressed concrete structures and evaluation of the stress increase in unbonded tendons at ultimate flexural strength of such structure has posed a great challenge over the years. Based on the bending experiment for two-span continuous post-tension beams with unbounded tendons and externally applied CFRP sheets, the monitoring of the stress increment ...
